JL tail light notes

I was in a hurry to replace my tail lights after damaging them in May, but I don’t like the replacement ones I got (nilight brand). I’ve been told by a few people following me that they’re not very bright. I mainly want the brake lights to be brighter for safety, but I also want to replace them with something that is more flush to the body to avoid the original issue I needed to replace them for (catching on a rock and getting ripped off on the trail).

I’m in no hurry now, and I’ll do some research before replacing them again. I’m just using this post to track some notes.

I think the Motobilt and Combat Off-Road look the best. The Quake LED are “interesting”. They project a light on the ground when braking and the company that designed them is in Denver (probably still made in China like everything else, but I can’t tell for sure). The Oracle ones seem to be the most popular. I don’t care about the cross-path sensors since my Jeep doesn’t have them, but that seems to be a consideration for a lot of people looking at tail light options.
